The Kiwis have carved out an excellent reputation for world class Pinot in less than 40 years. From modern beginnings in Martinborough in the 1980s, through the development of Central Otago in the 90s, and on to newer regions such as Waipara and the southern valleys of Marlborough, Pinot Noir is now NZ’s most widely planted red grape. Three bottles in this pack, from north to south: expat Aussie Larry McKenna’s entry level Pinot from Escarpment in Martinborough; Japanese gun Takahiro Koyama’s laser focussed wine from the limestone soils of Waipara, just north of Christchurch; and the supremely elegant Peregrine from Central. Enjoy!
