This 100% pinot noir Champagne is simply fantastic! Deep red fruit richness, but plenty of balancing acidity. This wine is best with food, especially oily fish such as salmon or ocean trout, or lobster - especially in a classic bisque.
All the vineyards that grow grapes for this wine are rated Grand Cru, the top tier of Champagne’s echelle des crus, or vineyard ladder. These villages are typically in the most favoured sites, generally with south facing slopes and high chalk content soils. In an area that’s fairly marginal for ripening, these perfect positions are essential to growing perfect grapes.
Nose: An enticing and complex bouquet with a fresh edge. Layers of citrus fruits, honey and dried flowers combine with fleshy red fruits and a subtle touch of spices.
Palate: Astonishingly fresh with heady hints of strawberry and a white flower finish.
